Things not seen is an incredible book about a boy who wakes up one morning and can't see himself. Literally. His name is Bobby Phillips, and it looks as if there?s no future for him anywhere. Sure, stores say they hire people with disabilities, but how many are going to hire somebody they can't see? And since no one can see him, how can he ever have friends? The answer presents itself in a blind girl named Alicia, whom he runs into (and over) in a library. She's about his age (15), and is the only person within a hundred miles who he can talk to without fear of being discovered. However, his secret leaks out anyways (despite his father's warnings not to tell anyone). Alicia's dad finds out, and as you can't have 2/3 of a family knowing something that the other 1/3 doesn't know, they tell Alicia's mom. Bobby's dad (a physicist) and Alicia's dad (an astronomer) get together to try and find a cure for Bobby. They discover a possible cause for making Bobby invisible, but no cure. Bobby decides to take matters into his own hands and comes up with a plan to find other people who woke up one day invisible. He finds one, but she doesn't have anymore answers than he does. Will anyone be able to cure Bobby? Or will he have to live invisible forever?
