Ten facts about sssnakessss:
1. You can't tell when they are asleep because they sleep with
their eyes open. That's because they don't have eyelids.
2. Snakes have a heart, lungs, kidneys, blood, and
basically all the same organs humans have.
3. Snakes have been found from below sea level to about
10,000 feet above sea level.
4. Snakes are found from the equator to the arctic circle
(in a few countries).
5. Most snakes can generally travel 3 - 5 miles an hour, but
6. The black mamba may be the fastest snake, reaching
speeds of 10 to 12 miles per hour.
7. The smallest snake may be the Martinique thread
snake (Leptotyphlops bilineatus), which does not
grow any bigger than 4 1/4 inches.
8. The largest snakes in the world are members of the family Boidae,
which includes the boa and the python. Some members of
this family never attain a length of more than 0.6 m (2 ft),
but the largest may grow to more than 9 m (30 ft).
9. Rattlesnakes can't hear the sound of their own rattles.
10. Snakes can eat things as big as leopards.
